Who we are

Scope of this policy
This policy applies to the Casamenta landing page, the waitlist form on this page, and the Casamenta app and related services used during early access and public release.
What data we collect
Depending on how you interact with Casamenta, we may collect:
- Account and authentication data, if and when sign-in features become available to public users, such as your name, email address, and login provider
- Location data such as your device location, base city or country, current city or country, geocoded search input, and travel-distance preferences, when you enable or provide that information
- Event-related usage data such as event discovery activity and related app interactions needed to provide current MVP features
- Technical and device data such as device type, operating system, app version, crash logs, and diagnostics needed to keep the app stable and secure
- Landing page signup data such as your email address, submission time, browser user agent, and referrer when you use the notify form on this page
Legal basis for processing
We process personal data under one or more of the following legal bases:
- Contractual necessity, where processing is required to provide core app functionality you request
- Consent, for example when you grant location permission or sign up for waitlist and product emails
- Legitimate interests, such as maintaining security, preventing abuse, improving reliability, and diagnosing crashes
- Legal obligations, where applicable under Dutch or EU law
How we use your data
- To operate the landing page, waitlist, and app features
- To help you discover relevant events and show location-aware results when you choose to use those features
- To manage accounts, authentication, and access control
- To improve event quality, app stability, performance, and safety
- To send product updates, launch news, and feature announcements if you requested them
- To respond to support, privacy, or account-related requests
Third-party processors and service providers
We do not sell your personal data. We use a limited number of service providers to operate Casamenta, such as providers for infrastructure and authentication, crash diagnostics, location and geocoding, website assets, and hosting.
- These providers only receive the data needed to perform their role for Casamenta
- They process data on our behalf subject to their own terms, security measures, and legal obligations
International data transfers
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses, provider commitments, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
Location data
If you enable location features, Casamenta may use device location and geocoding data to help surface nearby events and populate location fields. Location permission is optional. You can decline device location access and, where available, use manual location input instead, although some nearby-discovery features may work less effectively.
Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including managed infrastructure, access controls, and service-level security features from our providers. No system is perfectly secure, so you are also responsible for keeping your login credentials and devices secure.
Your rights under GDPR
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, restriction of processing, objection to certain processing, withdrawal of consent, and data portability. We aim to respond within 30 days. To exercise your rights, contact info@casamenta.app. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
Data retention and deletion
We retain account data while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Waitlist signup data is retained until it is no longer needed for launch and product communications or until you request deletion. Crash and diagnostic logs may be retained for a limited period, typically around 90 days depending on provider configuration.
Cookies and local storage
This landing page does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics cookies. The app and related services may use essential storage such as authentication tokens, cached preferences, and other functional local data needed to keep you signed in and make the service work correctly.
Children's privacy
Casamenta is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes may be announced on the website, by email where appropriate, or in the app. Your continued use of Casamenta after an update means you accept the revised policy to the extent permitted by law.
